Restrictions on the light rail network
Travelling to südback by public transport
Due to extensive points work between Weinsteige and Bopser or Waldau, SSB light rail services will operate on a reduced schedule during
the event weekend. The lines affected are the U5, U6, U7, U8, U12 and U15. The construction work will take place over the weekend of 24 and 25 October 2026.
Here are some other ways to get to südback by public transport:
• S-Bahn lines S2 and S3: Direct to the Airport/Exhibition Centre, e.g. from Stuttgart Central Station.
• S-Bahn line S1: Vaihingen – Stuttgart Central Station. From there, continue to the Exhibition Centre on the S2 or S3.
• U6 light rail: The U6 only runs between Flughafen/Messe and Weinsteige. To continue your journey, use the
light rail replacement bus service (line U6E) between Bopser and Degerloch Albstraße.
• Rack railway 10: Degerloch – Marienplatz (Stuttgart-Süd). From there, continue to the exhibition centre by S-Bahn. The rack railway runs until
around 10.45 pm.
• Bus alternatives from Degerloch and Ruhbank: Route 70.
Monday 26 October and Tuesday 27 October 2026
The light rail service will run as usual on these days. You can use the U6 and the S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 as normal.
