Energy Hub Stuttgart 2027

hy-fcell meets eltefa & Volta-X: More synergies for exhibitors

With the simultaneous holding of hy-fcell, eltefa, and Volta-X, a consolidated trade fair cluster dedicated to the energy transition will be established at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition grounds in March 2027. Hydrogen and fuel cell technologies will come together with electrical, energy, and building technologies, as well as smart solutions for energy generation, control systems, and energy storage.

For exhibitors, this means:

  • more relevant target groups
  • more cross-cutting topics
  • short distances between communities

...ideal for initiating projects and forming partnerships.

Synergy themes from which exhibitors will particularly benefit in 2027

Hydrogen Meets Electricity & Storage

  • Electrolysis projects and H₂ production require power generation, storage solutions, load management, and control technology.
  • Hydrogen, as an option for long-term and system flexibility, is directly linked to storage and energy system solutions.

Infrastructure & Utilities

  • Hydrogen infrastructure (production, storage, distribution, refueling) depends on grid connections, safety, sensor technology, control systems, and monitoring.
  • New project approaches are emerging at the interfaces with grid, building, and utility infrastructures.

Production Technology & Industrialization

  • Scaling up fuel cells and electrolysers: automation, robotics, quality assurance, testing and measurement technology.
  • Relevant partners along the manufacturing chain are brought together in Stuttgart.

Fuel Cell – H₂ and Methanol

  • Fuel cell applications will be considered more broadly by 2027: In addition to hydrogen, methanol is gaining importance as an energy carrier (e.g., for certain mobile and stationary applications).
  • This opens up new avenues for discussion regarding system design, balance-of-plant, and infrastructure.

Broader target audience

Energy suppliers & municipal utilities, project developers, EPCs
