LUCID launches Helios2 Wide Chroma, a factory-calibrated IP67 RGB-D camera
The Helios2 Wide Chroma combines LUCID’s Helios2 Wide Time-of-Flight (ToF) 3D camera with a 12.2 MP Triton® RGB camera into a rugged, space-saving unit. Featuring a wide 108° × 78° field of view, the camera captures large scenes at close range, making it ideal for applications requiring broad spatial coverage without mechanical repositioning.
Factory assembled and precision-calibrated, the Helios2 Wide Chroma provides overlaid RGB and depth data with no user calibration required. This eliminates complex field calibration procedures and significantly reduces setup time and system integration effort.
Designed for industrial deployment, the camera features a compact S-mount lens and an IP67-rated housing suitable for harsh environments. Combining accurate depth sensing and high-resolution color imaging, the Helios2 Wide Chroma is well-suited for robotics, bin picking, material handling, logistics, and factory automation applications.
“The Helios2 Wide Chroma was developed to remove the complexity traditionally associated with combining RGB and 3D imaging,” said Rod Barman, Founder and President of LUCID Vision Labs. “By delivering a factory-calibrated, IP67-rated solution with perfectly aligned color and depth data, customers can deploy reliable 3D vision systems faster and with greater confidence.”
Seamless integration with LUCID’s ArenaView® MP software and the Arena SDK enables automatic camera pairing and intuitive operation, allowing users to view and save aligned color images and 3D point cloud data without additional configuration. The Arena SDK also features code samples for the Helios2 Wide Chroma. This streamlined workflow accelerates development cycles while ensuring consistent and repeatable imaging performance.
The Helios2 Wide Chroma expands LUCID’s 3D vision portfolio, offering a robust, compact, and deployment-ready RGB + depth imaging solution for industrial and robotic environments. The Helios2 Wide Chroma is now available to order.
