IMAGO Technologies introduces smart line-scan camera with real-time capability

IMAGO Technologies introduces the Vision CAM LM2 – a smart line scan camera specifically designed for demanding industrial image processing tasks.

With line rates of up to 250 kHz and a resolution of 4 x 4,096 pixels (RGB + Mono), the Vision CAM LM2 sets new standards in speed and precision. At its core is the Real-Time Communication Controller (RTCC), which combines programmable logic with integrated I/O units to enable even highly dynamic applications — all without the need for a real-time operating system.

IMAGO Technologies is currently the only manufacturer worldwide to offer a line-scan camera based on the NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin™ platform. This unique combination of RTCC and NVIDIA Jetson™ Orin™ (Nano or NX) delivers the ideal blend of precise control and high computing power — making it perfectly suited for fast and complex industrial image processing tasks.

“Our Vision CAM LM2 combines high line frequency, flexible programmability, and reliable real-time capability in a compact system,” says Christoph Siemon, COO of IMAGO Technologies. “It opens up new possibilities for inline quality control and other industrial applications.”

Compact, powerful, and flexible
For maximum performance, the camera integrates an NVIDIA® Jetson™ Orin Nano or Orin NX module, equipped with a 6- or 8-core ARM processor and a powerful GPU. Running on Ubuntu Linux, it provides developers with a familiar and open environment to implement custom image processing algorithms directly on the camera. The camera also supports over 2,000 operators from the HALCON library, including GPU and AI functions, ensuring high flexibility.

Fast and easy development
Application development is simplified through the intuitive ViewIT software platform. Developers can choose from ready-to-use functions or integrate their own algorithms in Python, C++, or other languages.
The new Vision CAM LM2 expands IMAGO’s product portfolio with a high-performance solution for line-based image processing — ideal for applications in automation, logistics, and print inspection.
