Emergent Vision Technologies expands 25Gige BOLT camera range with seven new models based on Sony Pregius S sensors
The new cameras offer resolutions from 12.3 to 104.9 megapixels, with a choice of 2.74 µm and 5.48 µm pixel sizes. The different pixel sizes in these new cameras provides options for engineers working in different lighting conditions, and with a wide range of resolution and framerate requirement for their applications.
Five models extend sensor configurations announced for the ZENITH 100GigE series in September 2025 to the BOLT 25GigE platform. The HB-100-SBL, HB-65000-SBL and HB-50000-SBL use the IMX937, IMX938 and IMX939—lower-readout-rate members of the same sensor families as the IMX927, IMX928 and IMX929. The HB-25000-SBS and HB-12000-SBS use the same IMX947 and IMX949 sensors as their ZENITH counterparts.
Two additional models, the HB-25000-SBL and HB-12000-SBL, use the power-efficient IMX935 and IMX936, which retain the resolutions of the IMX925 and IMX926. Each new camera will be available in mono and color versions.
“Customers do not all need the same combination of resolution, frame rate and interface bandwidth,” said John Ilett, president and founder of Emergent Vision Technologies. “By extending these Sony sensor options across both our BOLT 25GigE and ZENITH 100GigE camera series, customers can select an architecture that matches the throughput, scale and cost requirements of their application without changing the underlying GigE Vision ecosystem.”
These new BOLT 25GigE cameras are well-suited for a range of applications. Scientific research, industrial automation and inspection, sports, and volumetric capture / virtual reality. It is also possible to mix 100GigE ZENITH cameras and 25GigE BOLT cameras within the same hardware configuration if different abilities are needed from a multi-camera system.
Scalable 25GigE camera systems
BOLT cameras use a 25GigE SFP28 interface, support RDMA over RoCEv2, and comply with GigE Vision 3.0 and GenICam. Systems can be built with cable lengths ranging from one meter to ten kilometers. Precision Time Protocol (PTP) supports synchronization of multiple cameras to within 1 µs.
The cameras are supported by Emergent’s eCapture Pro software and eSDK Pro software development kit. These tools provide multi-camera acquisition, zero-copy data transfer, NVIDIA GPUDirect data transfer and scalable control over how image data is captured, processed, stored and transferred. System designers can combine BOLT cameras with Emergent HERMES 25GigE network interface cards or supported third-party networking hardware.
