LUCID launches compact 5.0 MP Triton GigE camera featuring onsemi’s AR0521 CMOS sensor

LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of industrial cameras, has expanded its Triton® GigE camera series with a new 5.0-megapixel model featuring onsemi’s AR0521 CMOS image sensor.

The Triton TRI055N camera features the 5.0 MP backside-illuminated onsemi AR0521 CMOS sensor, delivering 2592 × 1944 resolution at up to 22.1 frames per second. The 1/2.5-inch rolling shutter sensor uses 2.2 µm pixels and supports global reset operation. With a dynamic range of 69.2 dB, low temporal dark noise, and high sensitivity, the camera provides a cost-effective imaging solution for low-light and high-dynamic-range applications.

“The new Triton camera featuring onsemi’s AR0521 sensor combines excellent imaging performance with a compact, industrial-grade design,” says Rod Barman, Founder and President of LUCID Vision Labs. “Its 5.0-megapixel resolution, low-light sensitivity, and wide dynamic range make it a versatile choice for customers seeking dependable image quality while minimizing system size, power consumption, and cost.”

The camera is well-suited for industrial inspection, laboratory imaging, microscopy, barcode reading, component verification, and automated optical inspection. Its compact sensor format also supports a broad selection of readily available C-mount lenses.

Measuring 29 × 29 × 45 mm and weighing 67 grams, the TRI055N is designed for systems with limited installation space. Its die-cast aluminum housing, Active Sensor Alignment, secure M12 Ethernet and M8 GPIO connectors, IP67 protection, and operating temperature range of -20°C to 55°C support reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.
All LUCID cameras are supported by the Arena software development kit, which supports Windows, Linux 64-bit, and Linux ARM operating systems, as well as C, C++, C#, and Python.
