Allied Vision Smart Cam Alecs now with VSWIR sensitivity
Flexible Resolution, Real-Time Edge AI
The Alecs VSWIR Smart Camera eliminates system complexity and removes the traditional need for a separate VSWIR camera and an external industrial PC with a costly GPU. The smart VSWIR camera is built to meet demanding requirements for space constraints, ruggedness, real-time decision-making, and reliable VSWIR performance across variable lighting and environmental conditions. Alecs VSWIR supports the full Sony SenSWIR suite, offering four sensor options (IMX990, IMX991, IMX992, IMX993) spanning 0.3MP to 5.3MP for scalable performance and cost optimization.
Onboard NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB delivers real-time inference and deterministic processing without an external PC, helping teams reduce total system cost and simplify validation. The rugged IP67-rated enclosure is vibration-resistant and supports extended operating temperatures from -20°C to +55°C (housing), enabling dependable deployment directly on machinery in dusty, wet, or washdown-adjacent environments.
Spectral insights and harsh environments
The Alecs VSWIR Smart Camera is designed to deliver reliable results in demanding, high-throughput environments, where both spectral insight and real-time decision-making matter:
- Inline quality control and sorting, including plastics recycling material sorting, where VSWIR sensitivity helps reveal hidden defects or sub-surface features and on-device AI enables autonomous decisions at line speed.
- Precision agriculture and food processing, such as detecting moisture levels, fruit bruising, or crop disease signals, where the camera’s IP67 ruggedness, extended temperature range, and embedded computer support reliable operation on automated sorting lines or harvesting machinery in harsh, dusty, or wet conditions.
More than just a camera
Together with the cameras Allied Vision is offering a comprehensive set of compatible accessories, such as Allied Vision SWIR C-Mount lenses, a lens tube with an advanced coating for improved transmission of the entire wavelength range of IMX99X sensors, I/O and power cables. Moreover, Alecs includes a 30-day trial license for all eVision Libraries, including deep learning functionality. Customers can test and design their application for free in eVision Studio. They can then copy the code into Alecs and run the application free of charge for one month before purchasing only the specific eVision library licences they need.
