At the 10th Medical Technology Innovation Forum of the technology network TechnologyMountains, the MedicalMountains and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg district, decision-makers from the medical technology industry as well as academics from well-known research institutes met on 11 October to exchange information and ideas. A perfect setting for the T4M project team to present the new medical technology trade fair "T4M – Technology for Medical Devices" to other experts from industry and science and to obtain suggestions on the design.
In many conversations the T4M team received positive feedback from the industry. "In my opinion, T4M is well on the way to securing a place in the medical technology industry. We noticed that the new trade fair for medical technology is well thought-out, both in terms of content and communication, and is gaining momentum", states Felix Neidhart, Sales Director of Medipack AG. The basic conditions, which the location and the trade fair grounds offer, are optimal. "With Messe Stuttgart we have a state-of-the-art trade fair centre in the heart of Baden-Württemberg, the federal state with the most medical technology companies in Germany", explains Matthias Gindele, Managing Director of Gindele GmbH. With the direct connection to Stuttgart Airport and the A8 motorway, the infrastructure for national and international exhibitors and visitors is perfect.
The Medical Technology Innovation Forum is an established event in the medical technology industry. The mix of top-notch networking opportunities, expert discussions and keynote speeches impressed the around 250 participants and over 30 exhibitors. A highlight of the day was the keynote speech delivered by the astronaut Reinhold Ewald on the topic "Living and working in space conditions". The Professor for Astronautics and Space Stations at the Institute of Space Systems at Universität Stuttgart not only reported about scientific findings, but also vividly described his personal experiences from the time of his cosmonaut training and the space flight with Mission MIR’97. Presentations on 3D printing technology, plastic in the medical industry or human-machine interaction also captivated the audience.
