Medical technology expertise in more than 130 presentations18.04.2019 - 14:13
With a just a few weeks to go before it all kicks off, the programme of accompanying events for T4M – Technology for Medical Devices has been announced. It covers a scope and content that clearly demonstrates the potential this new trade fair has to become an established meeting point for the medical technology sector. T4M participants look set to benefit from a programme that offers a wealth of information, with numerous presentations, keynote speeches and workshops covering the latest medical technology topics.
Experts from the worlds of industry and science will be sharing their knowledge and insights on two stages set up directly in the exhibition area, as well as the Pitching Stage for founder forum T4M Start-up World. Interested parties from the most varied of medical technology sectors can choose from over 130 presentations as they search for their particular area of interest. Questions on MDR/rules, digitisation, additive manufacturing, plastics, careers, manufacturing and production, management and market, cleaning, design and components, as well as electronics, are examined.
“Collaboration of utmost importance for the industry”
“The Production of Tomorrow” is a theme which courses through the entire T4M accompanying programme. Industrial software expert Dr. Thomas Mücke, from Siemens, will be giving an interesting presentation on the “Smart Factory – The digital twin for better security and transparency in medical technology processes.” Here, he will explain how process consistency can be improved, from development to production. “A collaboration between users, the experts and the people in power is extremely important for the industry,” emphasises Mücke. “Above all, due to the continually increasing complexity of products and the necessary representation of mechatronic structures in the product model. This is why we are delighted to have T4M as a trade fair platform where exchanges can take place.”
The relevance of cooperations is also emphasised by the workshop “Smart health – From research to application”, in which microTEC Südwest, cluster platform for microsystem technology, will be presenting the “In Vitro Diagnostics” and “Intelligent Implants” specialist groups, as well as the “3D-Bio-Net” funded project. “In our specialist groups, experts work closely together, exchanging ideas and developing joint projects,” explains microTEC Südwest Managing Director, Dr. Christine Neuy. “Companies, research institutes and universities for applied science are given the opportunity here to neatly bundle their skills and expertise. We support these cooperations – and we also see T4M as a chance to mediate between industry representatives and forge new contacts ourselves.”
Every trade fair day to open with top-class keynote speeches
Some of the highlights of the T4M accompanying programme include the three keynote speeches which kick start every trade fair day. In exciting and entertaining sessions, they provide insights into and views of different areas of the medical technology industry. Miriam Schuh for example, Salary Partner at reuschlaw Legal Consultants, will be outlining key industry concerns one year before the MDR transitional period comes to an end. Futurologist and 5-star speaker Sven Gábor Jánszky will be providing visionary insights into the future of medicine during his keynote speech, taking his audience on a journey through time to the year 2030. On the last day of the trade fair, Marcus Kuhlmann, Head of the Medical Technology Working Group at German hightech industry association SPECTARIS, will be highlighting the market development of medical technology from an insider's perspective.
Anyone who wishes to explore the T4M exhibition from a specific angle can take one of the guided tours that will focus on the key exhibition themes of Electronic Manufacturing, Plastic in Medical Technology and Labelling. These tours provide visitors with an overview of the event, improve the efficiency of their visit and provide participants with the opportunity to network with peers and colleagues.
