SÜFFA 2018: „Top address for high-end trade“


Exhibitors confirm good investment climate at SÜFFA / Guests from 26 countries welcomed in Stuttgart

"SÜFFA is and remains the industry get-together for a thriving trade in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland)", stated Andreas Wiesinger, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart, on Monday at the conclusion of SÜFFA 2018. "This year's event also once again impressively demonstrated this." From 20 to 22 October around 8,500 visitors met in Stuttgart to obtain information about the latest market developments, discover the newest trends and plan upcoming investments. Once again it was clear that the appeal of SÜFFA extends beyond the region: Roughly half the visitors travelled more than 100 kilometres. There were guests from 26 countries, including Austria, Switzerland, France, Great Britain and South Korea.

Diverse interest
There was "an incredibly positive vibe" among exhibitors and visitors, stated Ulrich Klostermann, President of the Baden-Württemberg State Association of Butchers' Guilds, who praised the "high-quality presentations of the exhibitors". The visitors were interested in various topics, including operating technology, food safety and hygiene, business fittings and furnishings, sales promotion and advertising, raw materials and semi-finished products, food and beverages. The numerous pavilions and workshops were also well received by the public.

Consistently high visitor quality
With roughly three quarters the butcher's trade – as intended by the organisers – was the largest visitor group, followed by catering/party service suppliers, the meat processing industry, food retail trade and gastronomy. The fields of activity were just as diverse and ranged from corporate and operational management to sales and marketing through to manufacturing. The biggest advantage of this year's SÜFFA was the consistently high quality of the visitors: For example, 84 percent stated they were involved in the purchasing and procurement decisions in their company, just under 80 percent came to the trade fair with buying or investment intentions.

Satisfied exhibitors
The feedback on the exhibitor side was also correspondingly positive: "At SÜFFA there was definitely a good atmosphere, a clearly noticeable willingness to invest", stated Kevin Eberhardt, Production Manager of Eberhardt GmbH. "We were able to obtain comprehensive information, also with regard to long-term plans and new buildings. SÜFFA is a top address for the high-end trade. For us the trade fair went really well, it was really worthwhile taking part!" Franz Dörflinger, General Sales Manager of Rühle GmbH, highlighted that SÜFFA had once again fully reached its main target group, the trade: "There were large crowds here and there. People are attaching increasing importance to healthy meat, origin and animal welfare. The traditional butcher is thus the trusted craftsman. Our customers confirm this. We received positive feedback and are very satisfied with our trade fair appearance at SÜFFA!"

High number intend to recommend the event and visit again
The importance of SÜFFA for the butcher's trade was reflected in the high number of people who intend to recommend the event or visit again: Of the visitors surveyed 84 percent would recommend the trade fair to friends and colleagues, almost all respondents want to attend the next SÜFFA.

The next SÜFFA will take place from 3 to 5 October 2020 in Stuttgart.

"We noticed that an increasing number of our customers are travelling greater distances to SÜFFA. At our stand there were customers from Schleswig-Holstein to Switzerland. It is clear that SÜFFA is the central trade fair for the trade. We were very busy and are satisfied. Also the contact for the trade fair organisation was very positive."

"SÜFFA 2018 was a good event overall that was well attended by many good and interesting people. We were able to conclude business deals directly at the trade fair, establish new contacts and are hoping for good follow-up business. The trend is heading towards high-quality meat, that was noticeable at the trade fair. We are satisfied."

"This was our second time in a row at SÜFFA and we couldn't have showcased ourselves better! This time the food truck pavilion was better designed, a super mix of empty vehicles and vehicles in operation. In terms of logistics and organisation Stuttgart is at the forefront. We had a wonderful stand, super contact with the trade fair team and are happy with how the trade fair went."

"We are satisfied with our trade fair appearance. The entire business development this year was positive, and this was also noticeable at SÜFFA. "For us SÜFFA went very well as there were many decision-makers on site. We were able to land orders directly at the trade fair. The huge interest in our demonstrations was noticeable: I would say 85 percent of all visitors who came to our stand were shown something. In Germany business is buzzing, investments are still being made. We are happy and will gladly come back again in 2020!"
