Medical Technology in Focus: Quantum Sensors & Innovations Live at Quantum Effects 2025
At the Medical Technology Pavilion in Hall C2, leading research institutions and companies will present the latest applications of quantum technologies in diagnostics, imaging and therapy.
Bosch Quantum Sensing as a Pioneer
A particular highlight is Bosch Quantum Sensing, showcasing how quantum magnetometers are setting entirely new standards in medical diagnostics. In the field of magnetocardiography (MCG), heart activity can be measured contact-free and without electrodes – more precisely and comfortably than with conventional methods. In prosthetics control, Bosch opens up further opportunities: tiny magnetic fields generated by muscles can be captured and translated into control commands, enabling prosthetic devices to be guided more naturally and intuitively. Bosch is thus bringing a decisive innovation for patient-centred applications to the stage at Quantum Effects.
Further Highlights: Fraunhofer IPA, NVision Imaging – and more
The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA is working on making prosthetic hands as intuitive to use as natural ones. This is made possible by NV centres in diamonds, capable of detecting magnetic fields a million times weaker than the Earth’s field. In addition, the institute will showcase the VitalQ state project, which explores contactless heart rhythm monitoring.
NVision Imaging Technologies presents its POLARIS platform, a breakthrough in metabolic MRI. By hyperpolarising natural metabolites, it becomes possible to visualise cellular processes much earlier – for example, to assess tumour responses faster and with greater precision.
In addition, several other exhibitors will be unveiling their medical technology innovations: from novel quantum sensors to new imaging applications and high-performance computing solutions that take medical simulations to the next level. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of practical use cases.
Stage & Supporting Programme
Beyond the exhibits, the stage programme will highlight current trends and future perspectives in medical technology. Expert talks, discussions and live demonstrations will illustrate how closely quantum physics and healthcare will be linked in the future.
A comprehensive supporting programme rounds off the event: the Female FutureTech Summit will provide impulses for diversity and innovation, B2B matchmaking will bring research and industry together, and dedicated networking formats will create new opportunities for collaboration.
