Programme 2025
Quantum Effects provides comprehensive information about quantum technologies and their use. Therefore, there is a programme specifically tailored to the needs of high school students, students as future users and teachers.
Programme for high school students
- experimenta on Quantum Effects
- Self-construction of a Michelson interferometer with the University of Stuttgart
- Augmented reality experiments on quantum physics with the TECHNOSEUM
- ISOQUANT Workshop
Both 2F01 I Experiments for students

From quantum jumps to double slits and quantum erasers: experiments in quantum physics for beginners and advanced students.
The team has a selection of exciting experiments on quantum effects.
experimenta brings knowledge to life. The team has selected some exciting experiments to go with Quantum Effects.
- 2 to 3 experiments per session
- Subgroups rotate between experiments
- Class 10 to 13
- Max. 15 students at each workshop
Please note: available in GERMAN only!
Both 2E51 I Experiments for students

How to eavesdrop on space with modern quantum physics – The hunt for gravitational waves with the Michelson interferometer
Self-construction of a Michelson interferometer from scratch, all components are self-assembled and adjusted; short introduction + bridge to quantum physics (including gravitational wave astronomy) as a short lecture within the 60-90min timeslot.
Please note: available in GERMAN only!
The quantum world is fascinating - and challenges many of our everyday ideas. What does 'particle' or 'wave' mean? How can an observation affect the result of a measurement? Quantum physics has its own rules, which often contradict our intuition.
Many quantum experiments require special conditions, such as low temperatures or high vacuum, and are therefore only partially accessible. The TECHNOSEUM makes the central phenomena of quantum physics tangible: with augmented reality experiment tables, we bring selected concepts directly to the quantum effects - vividly, interactively and directly experienceable.
- Augmented reality experiments on the basics of quantum physics
- Class 10 to 13
- Duration: approx. 60 minutes
- 4 dates per day 07 or 08 October
- Max. 12 students per date
Quantum cryptography - the ultimate protection for your data
Every day we send passwords, messages and bank details - many of them highly sensitive - back and forth over the internet. Conventional encryption methods are still secure, but could be cracked by quantum computers in the future. The workshop, organised by the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1225 ISOQUANT, will focus on quantum cryptography: an encryption method that is absolutely unbreakable thanks to the laws of quantum physics.
In this workshop you will get a practical insight into the basics of quantum physics and learn how this technology could revolutionise digital security in the future.
- Class 10-13
- Max. number of participants: 10
- Duration: 60 min
- 4 sessions per day (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon)
Programme for students
If you are a scientist or student in the field of physics or quantum technologies, we will give you the stage to present your scientific work!
- Take part in the poster competition and present your research projects to the expo audience.
- Register today for Poster Contest „Future of Quantum“ and Science Slam „Science meets Creativity“.
- We would like to talk to you about job profiles in quantum technologies in the „Quantum as a Profession“ workshops.

Poster Contest
Research in quantum technologies lays the foundation for innovation and new areas of development. Within the framework of Quantum Effects, we offer scientists and students the opportunity to present their research projects to the trade fair's professional audience. What are young scientists researching in quantum technologies? What moves you as researchers? Let us join forces in making these exciting topics in quantum technologies accessible to a broad audience.
- Scientists and students
- Number of participants: Unlimited

Science Slam - Science meets Creativity
Present your research and your creative ideas to the professional audience! The attention of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Baden-Wuerttemberg, companies dealing with quantum phenomena and visitors to the fair is guaranteed. A creative and entertaining knowledge transfer for professionals and young scientists: Inspire students at schools and universities with your scientific work. Use this opportunity to draw attention to yourself.
- Scientists and students
- Duration: 10-15 min presentation on stage
- Number of participants: Unlimited
- Location: Green Stage (Hall 2)
- Time : 12:00pm - 12:30pm
