New impetus for business in China

Since 1 January, Hans Stoter has been the new Managing Director of the Chinese subsidiary of Messe Stuttgart in Nanjing.

Since 1 January, Hans Stoter has been the new Managing Director of the Chinese subsidiary of Messe Stuttgart in Nanjing. The 47-year-old Dutchman has been working in management positions in the Chinese trade fair business for over 18 years, and in the coming years he will push the marketing of the trade fair centre in Nanjing. Furthermore, the expansion of our own existing events and the launch of new trade fair activities in China will be important themes.

Stoter started his career in China in 1999 at the trade fair organiser Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs (today VNU Asia), for whom he helped organise the entry into the Chinese business. In his subsequent positions – including at UBM and the i2i Events Group – he developed many different trade fair concepts, which he successfully implemented in Europe and Asia. Most recently, Hans Stoter was the Managing Director of Koelnmesse China.

Messe Stuttgart has been represented with a subsidiary in China since 2011. With the holding company of the Nanjing Trade Fair Centre, Messe Stuttgart has a joint venture for the marketing of the trade fair location of Nanjing and for the development of its own trade fair portfolio. Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibition Ltd. organises, among other things, the travel trade fair CMT China, Logimat China and Education+, the trade fair for professional training and further training.

Messe Stuttgart is active all over the world and has a network of subsidiaries and foreign representatives in over 50 countries. As a result, not only more exhibitors and visitors are being acquired for trade fairs in Stuttgart, but also self-organised events are being organised abroad. In addition, Messe Stuttgart regularly looks after various official German joint participations at leading international trade fairs.
