Mineral water setting quality standards in fine dining segment and hotel sector

Upscale establishments are strengthening customer confidence in service culture with natural bottled mineral water – successfully promoted as transparently sourced and of a consistently high standard. In high-end restaurants, hotels and catering companies, the cornerstones of hosting excellence are purity, trust and perfect service. An increasing number of companies are offering their customers the choice of natural mineral water – as a symbol of authenticity, verified quality and hygienic safety.

Quality promise of nature

Natural mineral water is bottled directly at its source, protected against any contamination. In Germany, it is the only officially recognised foodstuff and subject to regular, strict quality controls.
“For those in the hotel and restaurant business, mineral water is a true mark of quality,” explains Andreas Gaupp, Senior Executive at Mineralbrunnen Teinach AG. “It is supplied with the original seal intact and microbiologically pure. It provides both guests and service personnel with the feeling that they are enjoying a genuine, unadulterated product.”

Its clear origins and natural taste strengthen customer confidence and elevate the standard of service.”

Tap water systems: practical – with special requirements

Tap water systems or water carbonators can provide some businesses with additional flexibility. In the restaurant and catering sectors, however, they require special attention: installation hygiene, maintenance intervals and regional water quality all play a key role.
“In day-to-day business, it’s not always possible to check and maintain the standard of tap water in the same way as bottled mineral water allows,” explains Mr. Demattio, Managing Director of Gefako GmbH & Co. KG. “For this reason, many of our partner companies are deliberately choosing mineral water in order to be able to guarantee their guests a consistently high standard of safe drinking water.”

The Association of German Mineral Springs (Verband Deutscher Mineralbrunnen (VDM)) also emphasises the importance of verified hygiene standards: “Natural mineral water stands for absolute product safety,” explains Jürgen Reichle, Managing Director of the VDM. “From the source to the bottle, every step is monitored. In the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors, this is key to ensuring businesses are able to offer guests impeccable quality at all times.”
