Culinary battle in the gelato arena

The popular ice cream competition Grand Prix GELATISSIMO will again be held during GELATISSIMO trade fair. During the preliminary round the best ice cream makers in Germany will compete against one another over a period of three days. Their task: to produce the best ice cream in the defined flavours hazelnut, yoghurt and strawberry. Every day an expert jury chooses the daily winner who will qualify for the grand final on the fourth trade fair day when they will fight for the coveted trophy, producing the best mango ice cream: The three daily winners will provide a live demonstration of their skills to the jury who will select the final winner and hand over the trophy, the Coppa GELATISSIMO.

And for the first time in 2020 the additional ice cream competition “Intercoppa” will take place on the last trade fair day: the three finalists of the Grand Prix GELATISSIMO 2020 will compete with the finalists of the two previous years. The lucky champion in the category “beer-ice cream” will not only enjoy a big glass of beer, but also win a cruise in the Caribbean!

But that's not all: as further highlights between the daily competitions, well-known professionals of the gelato world will demonstrate their artisanal skills to the trade visitors: the prominent masters of their craft will share their knowledge with the interested audience in practice-oriented live shows and workshops.

Other highlights

Well-known professionals from the gelato industry will also demonstrate their skill to trade visitors for the first time: during live shows and workshops prominent master artisans will pass on their know-how to interested spectators in a practical way.
