Exciting professional competitions

  • Top Carver
    ... is the name of the vegetable carving skills competition. The participants have three hours to carve a figure from vegetables or fruit. The creations must be produced from scratch during the trade fair, preparatory work is not
    allowed. This competition is open to anyone, irrespective of their age or profession.
  • Couvert d´Or 
    Everything revolves around stylishly laid tables in this competition. It is traditionally one of the most popular events in the DEHOGA section and will be held in Hall 7 during INTERGASTRA 2018. The organiser is the German Association of Masters and Professionals in Restaurant Service and Hospitality (VSR), Stuttgart section. Teams each comprising two persons will professionally lay a table for a five-course menu under a motto of their own choice. The jury will judge the entries based on professional and creative gastronomic aspects.
  • Culinary skills competitions
    The culinary skills competition involves the creative design of figures using food. Whereas nutritional value and cost-effectiveness are of prime importance in the categories of "culinary skills" and "patisserie", category D involves show and artistic design. The exhibits will clearly show the difference between cooking and culinary skills.
  • Elevator Pitch - DEHOGA Cup (6 February)
    Exciting business ideas in quick succession: that's the objective of the "Elevator-Pitch BW – DEHOGA Cup“. Company founders and young entrepreneurs from the hospitality and supplier industries will present their concepts to the general public and a jury – in just three minutes (roughly the length of a journey in an elevator, hence the name Elevator Pitch. The start-up competition during INTERGASTRA 2018 will commence at 13.00 on the DEHOGA stage in Hall 7. The organisers of the competition are the Baden-Württemberg branch of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA) and the Initiative for Start-Ups and Company Succession (ifex) of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs.
