Hydrogen Technologies

The Hydrogen Technologies division at Fraunhofer ISE conducts research on the generation, conversion and thermochemical processing of hydrogen. At hy-fcell, Fraunhofer ISE will present its technology portfolio.

You will be shown:

• An advanced design concept for electrolysis cells: The novel half-cell composite lowers material and manufacturing costs, thus enabling mass production of PEM electrolyzers  
• A vivid illustration of the relative energy density of different hydrogen-based energy carriers: Fraunhofer ISE makes the advantages of converting H2 into power-to-liquid products tangible. 
• A membrane electrode assembly (MEA): clients are guided from the development of the catalyst ink to the production of the catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) and MEA production.
• The test fuel cell: Fraunhofer ISE characterizes cell components and performs lifetime tests with high performance and reproducibility.
