Fair Handeln is the central meeting place for everyone committed to sustainable consumption and global responsibility. It is a marketplace where wholesalers and retailers present their fair trade and sustainable products —from food, textiles, and cosmetics through to decorations, financial solutions, and other innovations for a sustainable lifestyle.

Fair Handeln differs from other trade fairs in the field of fair trade and sustainability in that it has strict admission criteria. Applications are reviewed in close cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation, which provides technical and conceptual support for the fair. We apply clear and strict criteria so that our visitors can be sure that they will only find products that have been manufactured sustainably and under fair working conditions. Each exhibition area has its own questionnaire, which was developed in collaboration with expert partner organizations in order to retrieve the relevant information from the exhibitors. In the area of fair trade, participating companies commit in writing to working exclusively in accordance with the fair trade definition of the International Fair Trade Association (FINE) – or that the range of products presented at their booth is sourced and distributed entirely in accordance with this definition. If certification such as membership in the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), recognition by the Weltladen-Dachverband, or membership in FAIR BAND, is available, immediate admission is granted. In all other cases, a case-by-case review will be conducted to decide on the admission as exhitor.
