Sustainability at Messe Stuttgart

[Translate to English:]

Messe Stuttgart and the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart have been setting sustainable trends since they first opened on the new venue in October 2007. Key concerns are the conservative use of resources and the promotion of a responsible attitude.

This awareness is also reflected in actions: Messe Stuttgart uses CO₂-neutral electricity and continuously invests in reduction measures as well as in offsetting remaining emissions through internationally recognized climate protection projects. Already back in 2010, Messe Stuttgart set a pioneering standard for the industry with its "Green Steps". In the following years, it signed the "fairpflichtet" sustainability code for the event industry and the KLIMAWIN-Charta, former WIN-Charta, for sustainable management in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. In 2024, Messe Stuttgart also joined the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance and can contribute valuable impetus to the subject of sustainability from the trade fair and event industry.

Sustainability Award 2024

In 2023, Messe Stuttgart won the German Sustainability Award. The German Sustainability Award recognizes companies that are particularly successful in meeting ecological and social challenges with their products and services and thus use sustainability as an economic opportunity. The award is a confirmation of Messe Stuttgart's sustainable self-image and a motivation for future action.

Sustainability report of Messe Stuttgart

Since July 2017, Messe Stuttgart has published its own Sustainability Report, which is updated on an ongoing basis. The Report contains a broad overview of the sustainability activities and objectives of Messe Stuttgart. For this purpose, the Report shows the current state, the objectives and the measures to be implemented to attain these objectives in relation to the different areas.
