Paul Horn Hall is turning into a fitness temple04.07.2018 - 13:19
A somewhat different format for a guest event will premiere at Messe Stuttgart on 15 December 2018. With HYROX, the first fitness competition for "everybody", Paul Horn Hall will be transformed into a fitness temple. "If you want to pit yourself against friends or strangers, or just discover your own limits, this is ideal", says Stefan Lohnert, Vice President, Guest Events, about the new event. HYROX is a combination of eight kilometres of running and eight different functional training workouts in alternation. Fitness enthusiasts aged 16 or over have the chance to put their athletic abilities to the test, either individually or with a doubles partner, or alternatively they can have a collective score with friends, colleagues or their club by registering for "team single" or "team group". The eight different functional training workouts include rowing machines, strength and endurance training on ski ergometers, as well as sled pull and sled push. "Farmers carry" involves carrying weights along a set distance.
The world's first fitness competition for "everybody" was kicked off last year by Hamburg-based sports marketing agency upsolut Sports, with a launch event in Hamburg. Following the successful debut event, other events are being held this year, not only in Stuttgart but also Leipzig, Hamburg, Essen, Vienna, Hanover, Nuremberg, Karlsruhe and, last of all, Cologne. FIBO 2019 in Cologne will host the first HYROX World Championships. It is possible to qualify for this at the Stuttgart event. Anyone interested can now register for HYROX in Stuttgart. There will be sweat and joy in equal measure, the event organiser promises. Further information: www.hyrox.com
