3 questions for ... Tanja Weber
Hello Tanja, you have been a project manager in the Guest Events & Congresses team for three years now, but you gathered a lot of experience in event management before.
What are your responsibilities in the Guest Events teams?
They are manifold and include customer care as well as actually planning and organising the events. This means that I am in close contact with our customers before the event and support them on-site. It is my responsibility to coordinate the efforts of our service partners and in-house departments with the organiser.
You worked in an event agency before you came to Messe Stuttgart. What fascinates you about your current role as an event manager and what are the most important insights you have gained in your career?
What I love most about my job is the diversity of tasks that come with every event, and that it is not purely office-based. We meet so many different people and always have to act as a team for success. One of my most important insights is that it is extremely important to stay calm and friendly even in stressful situations. It helps to establish a constructive and trusting cooperation and ensures a positive outcome meaning a well-run event. Good organisation in advance usually leads to smooth operations on-site.
What was your highlight this year?
It is a constant highlight for me how well we cooperate with our service partners. Especially in a year like 2024 that was packed with exhibitions and events, it was always great to experience their friendly and solution oriented support as well as the extreme flexibility of our service partners no matter how big or small the event.
