Daycare center directors are faced with a dilemma due to the dramatic shortage of skilled workers, waves of illness among skilled workers, the use of auxiliary and assistant staff and other current challenges: the pedagogical demands are in constant conflict with what appears feasible under the current framework conditions.
This management symposium will first discuss the professional understanding of daycare center managers and the pedagogical demands placed on the management task. In a second step, the focus will be on how these demands can be realized, e.g. through emergency plans, even in crisis situations, and how daycare centre managers and teams can remain capable of acting.

- Branch meeting: Extracurricular learning and career guidance
- All-day elementary school: Who's in?
- Didacta Start-up Award 2025

Extracurricular learning venues also provide impetus for career choices: Here, adolescents can discover their interests and potential outside the classroom and use practical insights into various occupational fields to recognize their own interests, strengths and abilities. The variety of extracurricular learning venues covers a wide range of topics and occupational fields - from natural sciences and crafts to cultural and social activities.
The learning venues use specific event formats to cater specifically to this target group. This makes it possible not only to gain practical experience but also to make initial contact with experts and get to know possible professions.
At this year's industry get-together, we will be presenting examples of best practice from different perspectives. Afterwards, we will enter into an exchange with the participants in a World Café format.

How can the daily routine be organized, how can a child-friendly rhythm be created?
How can rooms be designed and put to good use - even without expensive new builds or conversions?
What needs to be considered for offers during the vacations?
In lectures, workshops and a panel discussion, those responsible from research, practice and politics will have their say.

- Day of action: Media centers of the future
- All-day childcare congress
Organizer: Verband Katholischer Tageseinrichtungen für Kinder (KTK) - Bundesverband e.V. (KTK) and BETA in cooperation with the Didacta Association
During this year's Kita Action Day, we are focusing on the topic of child poverty in daycare centers.
The impact of child poverty on equal opportunities can be clearly seen in daycare centers. In addition to an opening lecture on the dimensions of poverty in childhood and a thematic impulse on equal access to educational settings in early childhood, an example of successful practice for the development of a concept for poverty-sensitive action by daycare center teams will follow.
In an open discussion, we will address the necessary framework conditions of the early education system, individual options for action and future perspectives for the further development of our own educational practice.
The day of action is an initiative of the Bundesvereinigung Evangelischer Tageseinrichtungen für Kinder (BETA) e.V., the Verband Katholischer Tageseinrichtungen für Kinder (KTK) - Bundesverband e.V. and the Didacta Verband der Bildungswirtschaft.
It takes place as part of didacta - the education trade fair. From February 11 to 15, 2025 in Stuttgart, didacta will provide an overview of current and future opportunities for teaching and learning.
