didacta 2021: Long-awaited exchange of ideas in turbulent times
The corona pandemic will leave its mark on the year 2020 and beyond. The focus has continually been in particular on the field of education, as distance learning, which is implemented in very different ways, and the challenge to "take along" all the pupils and leave no-one behind have shown. The world of work has also been massively impacted, and has in part experienced a rapid learning curve with regard to the use of new tools and methods.
Against this background, there is much to talk about. "The topic of education and training in the context of the corona crisis is the subject of heated discussion. We can see that all those involved in the education process feel the great need to exchange ideas and opinions. didacta will be the first platform on which a comprehensive dialogue will again be possible," says Dagmar Weise, Project Manager for didacta – the education trade fair at Messe Stuttgart.
In addition, many companies and exhibitors at didacta – the education trade fair have had little opportunity for sales activities since the outbreak of the crisis. In the feedback she receives from the market, Weise sees an "urgent need to present products and services, both for the digital sector as well as for education in general."
Great trust and a comprehensive offer
Over 250 exhibitors at didacta 2020, which had to be cancelled at very short notice in March at the beginning of the corona pandemic, have now already decided to go along with the postponement until March 2021. "We are delighted at the great interest and the trust the exhibitors at didacta have placed in us. Messe Stuttgart and Didacta GmbH will together do everything to ensure a safe and successful didacta 2021," says Reinhard Koslitz, Managing Director of Didacta GmbH. "The extensive accompanying programme with offers for all areas of education will again in 2021 play a central role within the framework of didacta – the education trade fair. Furthermore, we are working on further developing the concept, in which digital offers will expand the exhibition and the programme of didacta 2021.
This will give us the opportunity to increase the range of the trade fair next year and also to address visitors who cannot attend the event in person," explains Koslitz.
Safety concept at Landesmesse Stuttgart
didacta 2021 will take place with a comprehensive hygiene and room concept. "Messe Stuttgart has summarised its measures under the heading "Safe Expo – Safe for people. Good for the economy", and has developed an extensive concept in order to implement the applicable protection regulations of the state of Baden-Württemberg and to guarantee the safety of the participants at the trade fair," explains Andreas Wiesinger, member of the Board of Management at Messe Stuttgart.
From 23 to 27 March 2021, didacta, the world's biggest and Germany's most important education trade fair, will again attract teachers, educators and trainers, as well as representatives from politics, business and science, to Stuttgart.
