First CastForge event a big hit with visitors and exhibitors: Success set to continue in 2020

CastForge will return to Stuttgart from 16 to 18 June 2020. With its clear focus on castings, forgings and their processing, the trade fair première proved a big hit with all who attended last year. “153 exhibitors from 18 countries were impressed that, for the first time, they had their own platform with CastForge where they were able to showcase the entire value chain,” explains Gunnar Mey, Department Director for Industrial Trade Fairs at Messe Stuttgart. “In 2020, we will continue to provide buyers, developers and designers with the perfect environment for finding top-quality, pre-finished castings and forgings quickly, efficiently and according to specific requirements, not to mention specialised processors,” he adds.

Broader product and service portfolio for CastForge

A number of new exhibitors will also be presenting their products and services at CastForge 2020. “We attended the first CastForge event as visitors and had the opportunity to draw our own conclusions on the trade fair concept,” explains Carmelo Maffia, Head of Customer Focus Team Industry at the Leiber Group. The company's decision to take part in the 2020 event was, in part, due to the concise overview provided by the event for castings and forgings. “Discussions with the exhibitors taking part ultimately convinced us to present our own innovative solutions for lightweight construction here in Stuttgart,” added Maffia.

For Franz Böllinger, Managing Director at the Böllinger Group which has its headquarters near Heilbronn, CastForge is the perfect event to have on their doorstep. “As a manufacturer of prototype parts and low volume series in the area of drive engineering for the automotive industry, our products and services are currently very much in demand,” explains Böllinger. “At CastForge, we will be showcasing the entire process chain, starting with engineering and finishing with high-performance production, including everything from additive manufacturing to aluminium sand casting,” he added. In addition to solutions for the classic combustion engine, the company is also exploring new alternative drive technologies.

Numerous exhibitors who attended the first event were impressed enough to return again in 2020, information also confirmed by Thomas Laue, Head of Sales at foundry Gießerei Heunisch GmbH: “For us, the emergence of CastForge has been a stroke of luck. Any expectations we had for the first event regarding our products were greatly exceeded, meaning participation in the next event has been taken as a given for Gießerei HEUNISCH. CastForge, perfectly organised, is an excellent platform for providing a specialist international audience with an overview of our broad production portfolio, for acquiring new customers and further cementing business relations with current partners.”

The industry meets at CastForge. Manufacturers of castings and forgings, as well as highly specialised processors, will be presenting their products and services to industrial purchasers from machinery and plant engineering, drive engineering, the pump and hydraulics industry and utility vehicles construction.

Registrations for CastForge 2020 are already being taken, information for which can be found at www.castforge.de/aussteller-werden.

Round-table discussions for CastForge

The first round-table at Messe Stuttgart and another meeting at the Svaz Slevaren Industry Association in Brno, Czech Republic were well attended. Around 20 participants were provided with information on Stuttgart as a trade fair location and the CastForge event, before being invited to participate in an open discussion. “Direct exchange with the industry is our secret weapon for successfully aligning CastForge with the requirements of the foundries, forges and processors,” explains Mey. Together with potential exhibitors, the project team openly discussed key themes, possibilities for the accompanying event programme, target groups and much more. “Here, we gain valuable input for our work, which will help us become a true partner for the industry,” adds Mey.

The next CastForge round-table will take place on 22 May, from 11.00 to 14.00,
running parallel to the Moulding Expo, international trade fair for tool, pattern and mould making, in Stuttgart.
