Messe Stuttgart provides an outlook on the special show Digital Way30.07.2018
At the special show Digital Way at AMB (18 to 22 September 2018) in Stuttgart, visitors can find out how they will be able to benefit from the potential of digitalisation with current information technology. The focus will be on the two-day congress with 36 specialist presentations on all aspects of digital business models and processes in the age of Industry 4.0. Within the framework of the accompanying exhibition, around 30 companies will present their current offers of solutions. Showcases in which digital processes are illustrated on the basis of specific tasks will round off the information on offer.
The top-quality experts' congress, which is being organised in cooperation with the Software and Digitalisation Association in the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), will be divided into two parallel conference components. The first component, under the title "Business Processes", will be moderated by Dr. Katharina Mattes, Head of Coordination, Allianz Industry 4.0. It will be dedicated to topics such as digital simulation in the PLM, model-based digital engineering, augmented and virtual reality in machine and plant construction, Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg, human-technology interaction and the changing world of work.
The second conference component, led by Frank Jablonski, owner of the full-service communication agency mylk+honey, will look at business models. Using numerous practical examples, providers and users will explain how digitalisation can be successfully implemented. In addition, the speakers will examine the trend of platform economics, and look at machine learning as a component of artificial intelligence.
"The agenda of our congress is very diverse, and covers all issues related to digital business processes and models," says Gunnar Mey, Head of the Industry department at Messe Stuttgart. "What's especially pleasing is that, together with the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), we have been able engage so many users and renowned experts from the sector for this event." The entire congress programme can be seen at www.digital-way.info/kongress.
Exhibition and showcases enrich the congress
The interactive showcases form another pillar of the special show Digital Way, in which companies will jointly demonstrate the interplay between networked processes. These include, among others, the Elabo Smart Factory, in which processes in gyroscope production – from the configuration and production to purchasing and service – will be presented. The companies involved will visualise the physical production, data processing and assembly.
Furthermore, manufacturers of software and IT security solutions will present their current offers. The visitor will learn how he can benefit from the potential of digitalisation for his business models and processes, production, product development and service/customer service.
To round off the programme, Messe Stuttgart will also provide additional opportunities for networking with a matchmaking feature. On 18 September 2018, the opening times of the Digital Way will be specially extended to 21.00, and exhibitors, visitors and conference participants will be invited to a networking evening.
Tickets for the specialist congress can be ordered here. To visit the accompanying exhibition and showcases, the admission ticket for AMB suffices (www.messe-stuttgart.de/amb/en/visitors/service/admission-tickets-tickets/).
About the Digital Way:
The Digital Way is a special show taking place within the framework of AMB – the international exhibition for metal working in Stuttgart. It is dedicated to the increasing digitalisation in production. Firstly, the concept comprises an exclusive two-day specialist congress on 18 and 19 September 2018, which is being organised in cooperation with the Software and Digitalisation Association in the German Engineering Federation (VDMA). Secondly, producers of software solutions in the areas of digital business processes and models, digital production and product development, digital service/customer service and IT security solutions will present themselves in an accompanying exhibition. Within the framework of showcases, visitors can experience examples of applications and best practices live, which provide an overview of the interaction of networked processes within companies and their added value.
