Art meets technology: AMB on fire

21.09.2016 - 15:06

Competition for trainees and apprentices of exhibiting companies at AMB 2016

And the winners are: Bosch Rexroth GmbH and Paul Horn GmbH. With their unconventional barbecues the teams impressed the majority of visitors at AMB, the international exhibition for metal working (13 - 17 September 2016), in Stuttgart and an expert jury made up of chief editors, designers and professional chefs. On Saturday they each received a mav trophy during the awards ceremony.
It's hard to believe the different types of shapes barbecues can take when the imagination is allowed run free. Within the framework of the "Art meets technology" campaign of the trade journal mav, teams from several exhibiting companies constructed superb creations over the past few months. But they also learned a lot for their profession in the project work. The barbecues were on display during AMB at the East entrance area and on the exhibitor evening. They attracted trade fair visitors in an almost magical way. A barbecue and ten "barbecue bibles" were raffled among the voting visitors.
The barbecues had to impress in two categories: creativity and technical design. The appearance and design were evaluated just as highly as the material and form. But practical elements such as the firing system, user-friendliness and user benefits were also considered in the final decision. The jury found the barbecue from the Bosch Rexroth GmbH team the most creative. The team from the carbide tool factory Paul Horn GmbH received an award for the technical design.
