AAPM meets Hamburg

All about Process Management (AAPM) meets Hamburg: As part of NORTEC, AAPM is bringing its community to the Hamburg exhibition grounds. On February 4, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Hall A4, participants can expect a focused program featuring a welcome session, keynotes, round tables on specific topics, and practical short presentations. Throughout the event, there will be opportunities for discussions with experts, followed by open networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

Why Hamburg? Process management challenges span across industries — and meaningful exchange thrives on integrating regional perspectives and networks. By choosing Hamburg, we strengthen connections with local stakeholders from various sectors and industries, bring best practices directly to the region, and promote hands-on transfer of methods and solutions. In short: AAPM in Hamburg fosters proximity to local communities, makes process solutions tangible, and creates new collaboration opportunities — exactly where they are needed.

PresentationDr. Russell Gomersell (Senior Partner, bpExperts GmbH, Co-Host BPM360Podcast)No AI Without PI – and No PI Without AI: Shaping the Future of Intelligent ProcessesOsaka

Abstract:

AI and Process Intelligence Belong Together: Without process-oriented foundations, AI remains ineffective — and without AI, PI will no longer be sufficient in the future to make processes predictive, measurable, and compliant.
In this presentation, we will explore both sides of this symbiosis:
• How strong BPM enables trustworthy, successful, explainable, and sustainable AI initiatives —
• and why traditional PI/BPM must integrate AI to remain competitive in a dynamic market.
Finally, I will share practical recommendations that you can directly implement in your organization — from aligning your process and data strategy to selecting impactful AI‑PI use cases.

Intelligently Managing Maintenance Processes in Asset Management: Agentic‑Driven Inspection & Knowledge Hub

Osaka

Abstract:

Industrial plants such as wind turbines are becoming increasingly smart: drones, vision AI, and intelligent bots detect damage at an early stage, derive structured actions, and trigger automated processes — always with human validation and comprehensive documentation. However, the full potential of these technologies can only be realized when the underlying business processes are transparent, well-understood, and purposefully automated.

This is exactly where our presentation comes in: using a wind turbine as an example, we’ll demonstrate how AI-supported plant monitoring can be integrated with Business Process Management — enabling seamless, efficient workflows from technical analysis and operational planning to documentation and knowledge management.

Abstract (Mirko Kloppenburg):

You want to establish process management but aren’t sure where to start without getting lost in methods, tools, or BPMN? Then this round table is for you. You’ll receive a short introduction to the BPM roadmap: which steps really matter at the beginning, what typical pitfalls to watch out for, and how to build acceptance for processes in day-to-day operations. After that, we’ll discuss your questions and real-world examples. Together, we’ll organize challenges, share experiences, and define concrete next steps toward becoming a process-oriented organization.

What Does Process Automation Look Like in 2026? Rapid Prototyping with BPMN & CMMN Using Innovation Processes as an Example. Stay tuned!

Abstract (Martin Holling):

“We’ve always done it this way” or “Everything is completely different here” — those are the typical reactions within an organization when someone dares to mention the “buzzword” process management. How can we address this reluctance to change? How can we engage an organization to rethink processes and challenge existing patterns so we can work together more efficiently and effectively in the future? How do I create a culture of openness toward mistakes and continuous improvement? I certainly don’t have the ultimate answer to these questions, but perhaps we can explore the answers together!

Directions

Parking options on the exhibition grounds and in the surrounding area are limited. Hamburg Messe + Congress therefore recommends switching to public transportation provided by the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV).

This allows you to reach the exhibition grounds easily and comfortably from all directions. If you are traveling by car, the Parking Garage Mitte, Lagerstraße, 20357 Hamburg (see site map), is recommended.
