Messe Stuttgart launches automation event in Iran

Automation Iran complements the offering of AMB Iran / First event in May 2017 / Partner is the Iran Association of Industrial Automation Companies (AIAC)

Messe Stuttgart is launching a new event in May on industrial automation in Iran. "Automation Iran - The International Showcase for Industrial Automation and Smart Technologies" takes place for the first time as a pavilion within the framework of AMB Iran 2017 from 23 to 26 May in Teheran. Over 7,000 visitors are expected to attend the second exhibition for metal working and over 125 companies from ten countries have already registered.

Automation plays an extremely important role today in the industrial process chain. "We recognised this and also the potential of the market in Iran and with this new event we are bringing together exhibitors and users", states Ulrich Kromer, President of Messe Stuttgart. The exhibits of the showcase "Automation Iran" range from mechanical and electrical automation to automation technologies and systems through to modern control technology and the associated software.

Iran is the leading importer of electrical and automation technology in the Middle East with an import volume of 538 million Euro (in 2014), an increase of over 21 percent compared with the previous year. The technology is used in the key industry sectors in the country, besides the oil and gas industry, metal and mineral industries also car manufacturing and its suppliers.

The partner of Automation Iran is the Iranian Association of Industrial Automation Companies (AIAC). In Iran the association pools the interests of over 100 companies from all industrial areas, both manufacturers and integrators of automation systems. Amir Zolfaghari, member of the board of AIAC: "For over 20 years, even despite the sanctions we have been supporting the Iranian industry. The new prospects since 2016 and the showcase "Automation Iran" create the prerequisites to implement our ambitious plans for expanding the Iranian economy. Now it is possible for us once again to promote the technical exchange of information and ideas with companies from abroad."
