Hall 10 to bear the name of the Tübingen-based company Paul Horn GmbH

Advertising partnership agreed for 15 years Precision tool manufacturer firmly committed to Messe Stuttgart and the Stuttgart region.

The application for the construction of a tenth exhibition hall and the upgrading of the West Entrance at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre has been submitted. If everything goes according to plan, the foundations for Hall 10 could be laid in autumn 2015 and the hall would become operational in the strong trade fair year of 2018.

Ulrich Kromer, President of Messe Stuttgart, has already found a company that will lend its name to the new exhibition hall. The new Hall 10 will bear the name of the Tübingen-based company Paul Horn GmbH.

Branches and representatives in over 70 countries on all continents, around 900 employees in Tübingen and Gomaringen, and roughly 1,200 employees worldwide. Including production plants in the United Kingdom, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic and the USA: Paul Horn GmbH enjoys success on a global scale with its precision tools . Since 1969, the company from Tübingen has been developing and producing grooving, longitudinal turning and slot milling tools which occupy a leading position on the world market. Horn's main customers include companies from the automotive and aviation sectors, mechanical engineering, the chemical and medical industries, and other branches of industry.

"Our core competencies include our own research and development departments, as well as our coating and manufacturing technology," said Managing Director Lothar Horn, stating the basis for the company's success. In order to maintain and strengthen its leading position on the world market, another modern manufacturing building with a production area of 5,500 square metres was constructed in Tübingen in 2008 in addition to the headquarters and the existing production facility with around 6,000 square metres. In 2011, a new building for the subsidiary HORN Hartstoffe GmbH with around 5,000 square metres was added. The foundations for another new building with an area of 15,000 square metres have already been laid at the site in Tübingen. This new building will be ready for occupation in 2016.

As far as Managing Director Lothar Horn is concerned, it is only logical that, after its planned completion in 2018, the new Hall 10 will bear the name of the company founder Paul Horn: "By sponsoring the name, we want to emphasise our close cooperation with Messe Stuttgart. As a globally active manufacturer of precision tools, we are also stating our commitment to the region, to Baden-Württemberg and also to the location of Germany."

"Paul Horn GmbH has been connected to Messe Stuttgart for many years and is one of the largest exhibitors at our AMB event. Through the advertising partnership that was initially agreed for 15 years, the company is sending a visible signal of its commitment to the region," said Ulrich Kromer.

The plans for the building project of Messe Stuttgart include the construction of a new hall with an exhibition area of 14,600 square metres, which will be connected directly to Hall 8. It will be constructed on a concrete area which has been used to date as a car park. The West Entrance will also be enlarged by an area of around 3,000 square metres and will become much more important. After the extension, the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre will have a total exhibition area of around 120,000 square metres. The current cost estimate for the expansion is around €67.5 million. Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH will finance the new building from its own resources. There will be no grants or subsidies for this from the city of Stuttgart or the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. Just like the construction of the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre, the building principal for the new exhibition hall is Projektgesellschaft Neue Messe GmbH & Co. KG.

The new hall will offer fresh prospects for further growth for many of our events which are already reaching their capacity limits. The new exhibition hall will also allow better use of the trade fair grounds from two sides and make it easier to distribute and manage the visitor flows at different events.
