Messe Stuttgart and the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) organise Consense as the industry meeting-point for all sectors of the building and property industries which are involved in sustainable building, sustainable investments or sustainable operation of properties. The key topics at the trade fair are sustainable products in the building industry, for example building chemistry, building materials, roofs, walls and façades, but also building technology and automation, lighting systems, renewable energies and all areas of interior fittings and furnishings. Sustainable investments are another topic along with sustainable property consulting and real estate management. Building operators can also acquire a wide range of information relating to facility management and IT and software solutions.
Top decision-makers from the building and property industries meet at Consense. Architects, planners, engineers, project managers, building consultants, environmental consultants and experts from science, research & development, universities, training institutes, associations and public institutions. Construction companies, investors, building owners, project developers, general contractors and decision-makers from consulting firms, service providers, test institutes and banks are also represented. And facility managers and building operators are also increasingly recognising the advantages of sustainably planned properties.
Themed forums are another integral part of the trade fair. As the link between the congress and the trade fair, compact keynote talks in the themed forums provide valuable specialist knowledge for trade visitors and congress delegates. Four themed forums are held directly during the trade fair: the Building Forum organised by the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects (AKBW), the Operations Forum organised by the German Facility Management Association (GFMA) and the Practice Forum containing, for example, interesting examples of exhibitors' products and projects.
